These dogs are famous for their elegant looks and lively temperament. Their coat is short and requires minimal grooming. Regular brushing will maintain the dense coat in a good condition. Training needs of the breed are more serious. The dogs may be somewhat stubborn at times. The breed is very ancient. Its ancestry is not very clear. Most breed enthusiasts agree that the breed belongs to one of the oldest Hounds. Packs of these dogs were known in the Roman times.
